They say every journey begins with a single step. IS101, serves as that first step in my journey. As I reflect on the path I have led to get here, I am reminded of the road I have trekked with quite a few different detours, bumps, and forks along the way. While my path has not always been a straight shot to where I was going, I realize that the twists and turns in my journey were invaluable in shaping who I am today and preparing me for my destination.
My commitment to myself as I embark on this journey is to remember this moment of reflection. I am committing myself to the journey and not necessarily the destination. The beauty and value of who we are to become and/or the goals we seek to achieve, is through the experiences our paths lead us through - no matter how winding the road may be!
Very glad to hear you are re-energized to embark on your educational journey after 10 years :-)
ReplyDeleteMay your journey take you to the end goal of becoming an Employment Attorney/Corporate Counsel!
Welcome to IS101-3003, Fall 2023, Damien ^_^
I like your outlook on life. The twists and turns in ones journey most definitely shapes who you are. Those pas experiences make you unique.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are taking initiative in furthering your education! When you think about it, you already are ahead of most people! The only way is up from here. As you mentioned, the path is not always clear. It is completely ok to take some time to reflect on yourself. Everyone has their own journey with different obstacles. There are those who get stuck for some time, but others that overcome. Judging by your post, you are the latter!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your message very much; the positivity and your commitment. You should feel proud of your accomplishments but also proud of making the hard decision to go back to school. A difficult decision to make specially after you have reached out certain level of professional comfort. I applaud you.
ReplyDeleteI also took a hiatus from education for some years, so I know how you feel! It's a very exciting feeling indeed. I strongly relate to the part "every journey begins with a single step" as that's how my mindset has been for this semester.
ReplyDeleteWell said. People forget to enjoy the journey. All the bumps in the road and challenges we face are all what makes the effort worth it.

ReplyDeleteIt is amazing to hear your struggles and journeys'. Because now I know I am not the only way who feel this type way. My journey as been as easy well because I was not sure I was doing for me. I was doing for my parents not for me so I was lost. But now losing my father recently that put lot of things in my life in different perspective for me. So I am doing it now for me ,my daughters and my family's.
ReplyDeleteThat was beautiful, I commend you for your persistence and aspire to never give up on my goals similar to you. Life is really a journey and the path we walk on varies from everyone else.
